1.
Give your opinion.
a)
$\blacktriangleright$  Every child should take care of a pet.
I think every child should take care of a pet. It is important to start taking responsibility for something from an early age on. By being responsible for a pet, no matter if it is a dog, some fishes or a hamster, children learn that they need to take care of something and that if they don't do that, consequences will be terrible.
b)
$\blacktriangleright$  At the age of 16 you should travel without your parents.
In my opinion, children should be allowed to travel without their parents at the age of 16. However, I think that outside of Germany, teenagers should travel within a bigger group where there is one older person who is responsible and who will take care of problems that might come up. That way, teenagers learn to get along by themselves and they learn how to be more independent.
c)
$\blacktriangleright$  It is not good to watch too many soaps on TV.
I would not say that watching too many soaps on TV is bad. I would rather say that one should focus on one to two soaps and follow them. I also think that by watching TV soaps, you can keep up with your friends and you can talk to them about it and have something in common, too. But you should limit it to one to two hours - otherwise, you will not have time for other more important things like homework, sports or friends.

Subject: Application as a dog sitter
Dear Sir and Madam,
I saw your advertisement for a job as a dog sitter in the newspaper and would like to apply for it! My name is Sophie Becker and I am 16 years old. I will finish school in half a year and I am looking for a job because I would like to save some money to buy a scooter to get from one place to another without always having to ask my parents for a ride.
I really love dogs, I have one whose name is Charles. I am mostly responsible for him since my parents both work. So I walk Charles every day for several times and I love playing outside with him! He also accompanies me when I am going for a run. So I would love to be a dog sitter for another dog, too!
Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions!
Best wishes,
Sophie Becker
b)
$\blacktriangleright$  Write a story.
Last night I had a dream. I was invisible. First, I didn't notice it because I was all by myself. But then I left my room and went outside to see a friend. But the friend did not see me or react to me. It was as if I wasn't there. And I wasn't there, because I was invisible to anyone. In my dream I went to a bank in order to get some money. All of a sudden, there was a man in the bank with a black mask and he had a gun and wanted to rob the bank! He couldn't see me so I called the police right away. I just hoped that the police would come in time before the robber left. So I went outside and blocked the door of the bank until the police came and arrested the man! What a weird dream!
