Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for a town twinning partnership with your Welsh town. I would like to introduce my hometown Freiburg, which is located in the southwest of Germany.

Town twinning offers many advantages. It helps people from different countries to get to know each other, improve their language skills and build long-lasting friendships. It also strengthens cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

Freiburg has a long and interesting history. The city was founded in the 12th century and is known for its beautiful old town, the cathedral and the small water channels called “Bächle”. The area is also famous for the Black Forest, which is a popular tourist destination.

In addition, Freiburg offers many cultural events. For example, there are music festivals, Christmas markets and local wine festivals that attract many visitors every year.

To bring people together, I suggest organizing student exchanges, joint projects and visits during festivals. This would give people the opportunity to experience each other’s culture directly.
