Working to live or living to work?
Job interview
The cartoon shows a man at a job interview being asked about his dream job. In the next picture, he imagines himself as an astronaut in space, surrounded by rockets and planets. However, in the final picture, he smiles and tells the interviewer that his dream job is “working as a sales assistant in your store, of course!”
The main idea of the cartoon is that people do not always tell the truth in job interviews because they want to impress the interviewer and get the job. The man’s real dream is clearly to become an astronaut, but he changes his answer to sound more suitable for the interview. The cartoon is funny because the difference between his real dream and his spoken answer is immense. It also shows how people sometimes hide their true ambitions in professional situations.
One dream I would like to come true is to have a successful and enjoyable career that I am passionate about. I want a job where I can meet different people, learn new skills, and feel proud of my work. I would also like to travel to different places and gain new experiences. Another dream of mine is to become more confident and independent as I grow older. I believe that with hard work, determination, and a positive attitude, dreams can eventually become reality.
The only way
Steve Jobs’ quote means that people do their best work when they truly enjoy what they are doing. If someone does not like their job, they may lose motivation and not work as hard. The quote also encourages people to continue searching for a career they are passionate about instead of accepting a job that makes them unhappy.
I mostly agree with this quote because loving your job can make life more enjoyable and less stressful. When people are interested in their work, they are usually more creative, motivated, and successful. For example, athletes, musicians, or scientists often achieve great things because they are passionate about what they do. However, I also think that not everyone can immediately find their dream job. Sometimes people must work in jobs they do not love in order to earn money or gain experience before reaching their goals.
My dream job would be to work in a place where I can meet people, help others, and learn new skills. I would enjoy a job connected to history, tourism, or customer service because I like communicating with others and working in interesting environments. One reason for this choice is that I enjoy being part of a team and making people feel welcome. I also want a career that allows me to continue learning and developing confidence in myself.
