Subject: Complaint About My Birthday Visit
Dear Manager,
My name is Lily Preston. I celebrated my 16th birthday at your burger restaurant last Saturday at 3 p.m. with a group of eight friends. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Our reserved table was not ready when we arrived. Additionally, the food arrived late, was cold and the staff seemed overwhelmed and unfriendly. I had expected a special and joyful afternoon, but sadly, it was quite the opposite. I believe a personal apology and possibly a voucher for a future visit would be appropriate. I would also appreciate a short conversation to discuss this matter further.
Kind regards,
Lily Preston

Part 2
Task A
When I woke up in the year 2060, everything felt different. Nature was cleaner, with green cities and vertical gardens covering skyscrapers. Technology had advanced incredibly: people used voice-controlled holograms instead of smartphones, and transport was fast and silent thanks to self-driving electric pods. Money no longer existed physically – digital currencies had taken over. People communicated mostly through virtual reality, although face-to-face contact still mattered. Cities were more sustainable and less crowded because many worked remotely. Life was more comfortable, but also more dependent on machines. I felt amazed and slightly overwhelmed. It was fascinating to see how much had changed – and how much had stayed the same. Even in 2060, people still cared about connection, purpose, and the beauty of the world around them.

Task B
I strongly believe that students should do an apprenticeship after school. It gives them the chance to gain practical experience and develop important skills before entering the job market. While studying at university can be useful, it is often very theoretical. An apprenticeship, on the other hand, combines learning with real work. This helps students to find out what they enjoy and what they are good at. Also, many companies prefer to hire people who already have experience. Apprenticeships can also reduce stress, as students earn money and become more independent. Not everyone is made for university life – some people learn better by doing. That’s why apprenticeships are a great opportunity and should be seriously considered after school.
