Factors influencing the development of one's set of values
- Family and upbringing: parents/guardians and close relatives are usually the first role models. They shape beliefs, norms, and moral principles in a child.
- Family traditions, religious practices, and cultural norms influence the development of one's set of values as well.
- Education and peers
- Personal experiences and reflection
- Volunteer at local charities or shelters, like the food bank, homeless shelter, animal rescue, or community kitchens.
- Organize or join community clean-up events to make your community (parks, streets, beaches, rivers) cleaner.
- Support local businesses and farmers.
- Offer tutoring to younger students or students who are struggling.
- Check in on elderly or isolated neighbors who might feel lonely or need help.
