Jay’s special bites

As you all know, I simply love food. Food of all flavors, colors, shapes, sizes – you

name it. During my stay in NYC last month I tried a lot of new things. Here are some

of my favorites.

The Rainbow Bagel is a real eye-catcher, I think it’s the world’s most beautiful bagel

ever. The dough is given a splash of neon color and then it is expertly rolled into a ring.

Traditionally you top it with cream cheese. Now you can choose from different veg-

etables. Make it spicy by adding chili flakes. It’s absolutely delicious.

The best dish I tasted was Bubble Waffles. They are crispy on the outside and soft on

the inside. The waffles are shaped into cones and filled with ice cream of different fla-

vors. Add fruits, cookies, sauces and other sweet things. The possibilities are endless.

I got really creative ordering my waffle and even went back for more the next day.

My sweet tooth is legendary – I even had ice cream for lunch! Not just any kind, but a

really cool one 😀 It’s purple because it is made from purple yams. If you don’t know,

a yam is something like a colored potato. Not only is it as purple as lavender, it actually

tastes a little bit like it. But, don’t worry, it is still sweet. It reminded me of a classic

vanilla ice cream. This mix of flavors makes it really special. Honestly, you just have to

try it!

And the last of my favorites is the Sushidonut. It’s a donut made of rice and you can

put all sorts of things on it. I chose salmon, avocado and cucumber. And, because I felt

adventurous, I added some mango as well. I liked the Sushidonut, it is really colorful

and something different.
