Picture-based writing

Deine Klasse verbrachte die Abschlussfahrt in England. Zum Programm gehörte auch eine Fahrradtour mit Übernachtung in einem Zeltlager sowie die Teilnahme am Käserennen, einer typisch englischen Veranstaltung.

Du verfasst nun für die Schülerzeitung deiner englischen Partnerschule einen Beitrag. Verwende dazu die Bilderfolge. Du musst nicht alle Bilddetails berücksichtigen. Bewerte das Erlebnis.

Task 1

I prefer cooking at home. First, it is usually cheaper than eating in a restaurant. Second, I can choose the ingredients myself and prepare healthy meals. Third, cooking at home is more relaxing because I can eat whenever I want. I also enjoy cooking together with my family or friends. Of course, eating out is nice sometimes, but for me cooking at home is the better choice.

Dear Mr Tiller,

last summer we really enjoyed the sports camp at your school in England. This summer, our school is organizing the camp and we would like to invite you.

The camp will take place at our school and the nearby sports centre from 20th to 24th July. We are planning different activities, for example football, basketball, swimming and volleyball. You can stay in our school gym, so please bring sleeping bags. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. In the evenings, we are planning a barbecue, a movie night and a trip into town.

Could you please tell us how many students and teachers will come? We would also like to know how you are planning to travel to our school.

Are there any special food requirements, for example vegetarian meals or allergies?

We are looking forward to seeing you again.

PICTURE-BASED WRITING

Cheese-rolling competition

Last May, our class went on a school trip to England. One day, we started a bike tour through the countryside. In the evening, we arrived at a campsite. We put up our tents and sat together around a campfire. It was a great evening.

The next morning, we continued our bike tour and visited a cheese factory. There we learned how cheese is made. Later, we also saw a small stand where people could buy cheese snacks.

The best part of the trip was the famous cheese-rolling competition. Many people stood on a hill and waited for the race to start. Then a cheese rolled down the hill and everybody ran after it. Some people even fell down because the hill was very steep.

In the end, there was a winner and everybody celebrated. I really enjoyed the event because it was funny, exciting and completely different from anything I had seen before.
