Dear Mayor Lillington,

I am writing because I heard that the local youth club may be closed. I am very sad about this news and would like to support your campaign “SAVE THE LOCAL YOUTH CLUB”.

My name is Sophie Miller and I am spending three weeks in Great Britain for a language course. I am staying with a host family, and in the afternoons I often visit the youth club with their children.

So far, I have had many positive experiences there. I have played table tennis, listened to music and met friendly young people from the area. The club is a safe place where teenagers can relax, make friends and take part in interesting activities. It is especially important for young people who cannot meet their friends at home or who need help with schoolwork.

Could you please tell me why the youth club is going to close? I would also like to know which activities are already planned as part of the campaign. Are there petitions, charity events or public meetings? Finally, how can I help? I could hand out flyers, collect signatures or help at an event.

I really hope the youth club can stay open.

Creative Writing: Picture-Based Writing

Dear followers,

Believe it or not! Last night I had a very special experience at our local youth club. When I entered the creative room, I saw a young artist kneeling on the floor in front of a large wall. She was wearing a hoodie and a blue hat and was using spray paint to create a colourful picture.

At first, I was surprised because I thought graffiti was not allowed inside the building. Then I saw the sign “Creative Wall – Be brave!” and understood that this wall was made for young people who wanted to try street art. There were several spray cans, paintbrushes and a pot of paint on the floor. The picture showed many curved lines and different shapes.

The artist invited me to add something to the wall. I felt nervous because I had never used spray paint before. However, she explained everything carefully. After a few minutes, I painted a small yellow shape. I was very proud of my work and really enjoyed being creative.

In my opinion, the evening was fantastic. I learned that graffiti can be real art when it is done legally and with respect. The creative wall is a great idea because young people can express themselves without damaging public buildings.
