Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing because my class is planning a school-leaving trip to England. My team is responsible for finding suitable accommodation and organising activities during our stay.

We are a group of 26 students and two teachers. We would like to travel from 12 to 18 July and stay for six nights. As we want to travel in a sustainable way, everybody will bring a bicycle. Therefore, we are looking for a youth hostel, a simple hotel or shared holiday apartments. It is very important that the accommodation has a safe and locked place where we can store our bicycles.

Could you please send us information about suitable accommodation for our group? We would also like to know which guided cycling tours you offer. Tours through the countryside or along the coast would be especially interesting. Are there any other activities for school groups, such as museum visits, sports or city tours?

Please also inform us about the total costs and possible discounts for larger school groups. Finally, which documents and insurance policies do we need for the trip and the cycling activities?

“Green” sightseeing

Last summer Alex visited England with his family. One morning, they saw a strange vehicle called the Cleanbus. It was an electric sightseeing bus with large windows and comfortable seats.

“This looks incredibly modern,” Alex said. He was excited because he was interested in sustainable transport. Before the tour started, a friendly guide welcomed the passengers and explained the most important safety rules. Alex’s younger sister was a little nervous, but the guide smiled and said, “There is no reason to worry. The Cleanbus is very safe.”

During the tour, they passed green hills, a waterfall and an old castle. Everybody could enjoy the beautiful view without hearing a loud engine or smelling exhaust fumes. At one stop, the passengers received drinks and local snacks. There were also recycling bins nearby.

In Alex’s opinion, the Cleanbus was an excellent idea. It was comfortable, quiet and good for the environment. He talked to a prospective passenger who wanted to try the bus later that day.

At the end of the trip, Alex said, “I will definitely recommend this tour to my friends.” He hoped that more cities would use clean buses in the future.
