Dear Author,
I have just read your article “Books over movies” and I understand your arguments. Still, I believe that movies can be just as meaningful as books if they are well made.
One of my favorite movies is Billy Elliot, directed by Stephen Daldry. The movie is set in Northern England during the miners’ strike of the 1980s. It tells the story of Billy, an eleven-year-old boy who discovers his passion for ballet, even though his father wants him to learn boxing instead. Billy’s struggle to follow his dream, against the expectations of his family and community, is both touching and inspiring.
I enjoy this movie because it combines a personal story with important social issues. It shows themes like family, friendship, gender roles, and class differences. The music and dancing also create an emotional atmosphere that makes the story unforgettable.
In my opinion, a great movie needs strong characters, an interesting plot, and a message that makes us think. Good acting and music also help to bring everything to life.
That is why I believe Billy Elliot is a wonderful example of how movies can be just as inspiring as books.
Yours sincerely,
Ruby Miller
